John Ezell John Ezell (born 1933) is a prominent American scenic designer and theatre educator.〔Judith Newmark. Ezell was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where his fascination with scenic design and visual artistry began as a young man. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Washington University's School of Fine Arts (known today as the Sam Fox School) in 1954.〔http://www.artdaily.com/index.asp?int_sec=11&int_new=25709&int_modo=2#.Uhj0tT_hdBU〕 Following a period of service in the armed forces, Ezell was accepted to study theatrical design at the prestigious Yale School of Drama under the tutelage of landmark American scenic designer Donald Oenslager, where he graduated with his Master of Fine Arts in Drama in 1960.〔Dominica Borg.
